I've sat down and worked out that if I manage 2,000 words for the rest of this challenge, the most I'll be able to reach is 25,000; half of what I'm supposed to write for NaNoWriMo.

NOT HAPPY JAN!!

I'm going to have to work my arse off in the intervening days, I can tell. Basically, with seven days remaining, I need to write 5,795 words per day. Considering I seem to be able to write about 2,000 on days that I work, this means 10,855 words on the three days I have left that I'm not working. Let's all pray it's doable, shall we?

oh no, that kinda fills me with excited terror. i can just imagine you bashing away frantically at the keyboard, ink on your fingers (although I'm not sure why, it just seems to fit), hair all over the place (not that i know what kinda hair you have) and a wild crazy look in your eye as you force the words to come, no matter what they sound like, you just keep typing, and then suddenly at four in the morning with thousands of words of shite behind you you break into that magical state, the place where each sentence you write is genius and you can see clearly all the school children that will read these sentences in awe for their year 12 exams and your name on top of the nytimes bestsellers list, you will go for interviews and readings and book signings and you will never need to work again, your genius will be remembered well into the future....
oh, I *really* hope you finish. :)

Yep, often have ink on my fingers from my fountain pen, or my printer...and my short curly hair certainly gets a bit wild...
Let's just hope I finish. December's when I force my novel into its NYTimes Best Sellers version... *grins*
