So I got rid of a heavy bag of books today. Some went to
sylvertongue (including a super-sekrit never-made-it-to-public-offer book), most to
bekki_n. I also gave
bekki_n one of our green bags that I'd brought the books to work in. We have too many of those suckers.
sylvertongue has totally changed and grown her hair and stuff. It's always a little disconcerting to see someone after a few years and realise that they haven't just frozen like the snapshot in your head.
I now have just enough money to replace the book that I inexplicably left on the train last week. Since I had the book for less than 24 hours and I had been trying to get hold of a copy for several months, including taking a very long round train trip to Williamstown to try the metaphysical bookshop there, I was rather gutted to lose it. I have to order the book through Amazon, though, as no-one's selling it here, so I might wait until I've got rid of a few more books. There were another few things that Steph and I really want, and it feels right to allow those into our life once we've cleared out things we don't need or want anymore.
Now I just need to get rid of the rest of the pile I have posted about, and to post up some of the rest (might get some done tomorrow). It'll be great to have new space in my life to bring new things in to, even if you just think of it as metaphoric space.
I have just deleted my Fat Lady Digest icon. There's a clutter-clear for you - getting rid of old projects that you are never going to finish. I'm sorry we're not. I really wish that'd got off the ground. I think we needed more than three of us working on it, though. There just wasn't the manpower behind what we wanted to do, unfortunately.
