I've put our Christmas puddings out of the way in our storage area under the stairs. However, since this storage area is adjunct to the armchair I sit on to use the laptop, it means that every time I sit here, I'm going to be smelling DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS Christmas puddings. How am I going to cope‽

Nice try. ;)

Are you going to the gardens this year? Because I'm bringing a small one along.

...your pudding is in storage? Obviously, I do not know how to make a proper Christmas pudding.

Well, my parents-in-not-law have theirs in the pantry, but it's always getting in the way (I feel), what with our limited space. Under the stairs is cool, dark, and nothing should get to them (they're sort-of on shelves). The puddin's should be safe there.

I didn't even know puddings could store. I thought you cooked them and ate them the same day. Or at least the day after. So, yeah...I've never had, seen, or made a proper Christmas pudding, apparently. But that's cool. I have to leave something for retirement when I've learned everything else. :)

Well, it's tradition in England to store Christmas puddings for five or six weeks beforehand, according to Wikipedia, and sometimes longer. It's supposed to improve the flavour; I can give no guarantees for that, though (I tasted some of the batter this year and it tasted pretty flavoursome already!). I'm assuming you're using a boiled-pudding recipe like this one?
