Some student from my uni has just contacted me in regards to a meeting for a group project on Tuesday.

Only thing is, I have don't have class on Tuesday. Nor, to the best of my memory, do I have a group project. And I've never heard of this person before. Yet she addresses me by name!

WTF??

I'm starting to feel like that gentleman in The Image in the Mirror by Dorothy L. Sayers.

Very strange!

A friend linked to http://www.mccord-museum.qc.ca/en/keys/games/game_0/ - how well do you know your victorian era social norms?

I have only read two Dorothy L. Sayers books, not being erudite enough to go through Busman's Holiday and spot the several hundred Shakespearean quotes she littered through it, for example. Of the two I've read, one was Strong Poison, for which the solution was so bleedingly obvious that I spent the whole book looking for the twist to stop it being who I suspected, and one was set in amongst the world of bell-ringing, and was actually quite good.

Lord Peter Wimsey is totally a written boyfriend, though.

How are you finding her books? I mean, in words more 'woo, love!' ?

TIitM was, in fact, a short story - the first of hers I read, and I must say I worked out the plot of that one. But on the other hand, I've read a lot of Christie growing up, and if Christie claimed to have never read Sayers (I don't know her opinions &c either way), then she was lying.

I think I'd quite like Busman's Holiday, then! According to [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge, who got me onto them, Strong Poison is the worst of the lot, so it sounds like you picked a bad one. ;)

I am enjoying them, though perhaps I'm not far enough into Strong Poison to dislike it yet. ;) I really, really like her style. It's the slightly-old-fashioned language, and the humour, and then the murder! Colour me in love.
