Had a mild disagreement with Cox as to the correct pronunciation of chimaera/chimera (which is a unit in Warcraft). I've always pronounced the word with a hard c and a silent h, while Cox pronounced it with a ch sound as in church. Getting home I enquired of my father, who pronounced it with a sh. However, I've since looked it up on dictionary.com, and (if I'm reading the pronunciation guide correctly) it is pronounced with a hard c. This is backed up by the fact that it's a Greek word, and my Classics professor always pronounced Chiron as Kai-rone (if I recall correctly), ie with a hard C sound.

I'm not sure whether I'm relieved that I'm right or somewhat disturbed.

...Just read today's BMB. Those who don't read the comic just bear with me a moment while I go
AAIIIIEEEEE!!!!!!

Boy, are the people on the forum going to be surprised. ("I was getting all excited about Skids/Cy, but this is shaping up to be Skids/Tybalt...")

Honey, I wasn't making a big deal about it. I wasn't criticising you at all. I was merely interested in discovering how it was really pronounced. If you'll notice I said "mild disagreement" not argument. We didn't agree on how to pronounce it. Nowhere did I say that there was an argument. You're perfectly entitled to pronounce it HOWEVER THE FUCK YOU CHOOSE.
