So, all you lazy-arse Melburnites who haven't gone to see Relic yet, you have one more chance. Melbourne Uni Parkville, Union Building, Guild Theatre. I'd suggest getting there at about 7.30 for an 8pm start. Not sure of the booking office number, and quite frankly, that's a bit too much like effort.
The germs amongst the cast and crew are cross-pollinating, I think. I know that I've been slowly getting worse rather than better the last week or so, but slyly, so's you wouldn't notice. I know of at least two distinct virusy things going around (ie, the standard cold thing, and the thing that Cerise had that makes you vomit), but there's probably loads of different strains. I know I started out with merely a very heavy headcold and a sore throat, and now I'm coughing (with occasional surprise packages of phlegm).
No snog at the afterparty for you.
Not that there was anyway... have sneaking suspicion that aforementioned 2nd crush [ie, the one better thought through than the first, which was physical] is Involved. I hate my libido.
Now I come to think of it, 2nd crush was only slightly better thought through, as have sneaking suspicion she's straight, as have mentioned before.
I'm convinced that there's a little mental checklist in your head that your brain has for attraction purposes. There's a whole list of attributes that have difference importance levels; extremely important, only waived under extreme circumstances; reasonably important; may be waived in special circumstances. Have sneaking suspicion that someone put tick in extremely important, only waived under extreme circumstances box next to "Straight".
Have just reread The Truth last night (and read The Fifth Elephant tonight). Much better than I remembered it. Glad I gave it a second chance. Think I need to put all Pratchett books away if I'm planning on writing anytime soon. I find his style far too easily emulated. Was planning a bit from The Third Novel today (or possibly yesterday? My sense of time is screwed) while walking down Monash Road, and found myself creating it in the Pratchett style.
I have a brand new idea for the structure of The Third Novel, which will be brilliant... once I finish the First. And also the Second. Starting the Second wouldn't be a bad idea either. I've always been really good at beginnings and ends, but rubbish at middles. Suspect this is probably linked with the fact that I have a reasonable idea of what happens in the first and third books, but no idea what happens in the second. Or even the middle of the first.
