Creative log
Jan. 13th, 2009 08:35 pmSaturday 10/1: nothing. (Did housework, grocery shopping, then went around to Dee and Anthony's for socialising. Will Do Better.)
Sunday 11/1: had a morris performance. Danced, played recorder & drum. Taught myself Brighton Camp/The Girl I Left Behind Me.
Monday 12/1: had a morris practice. Danced Aldgate Rant and Four-hand Reel. Played recorder. Worked on Brighton Camp & taught myself the music for Bunch of Fives (don't know the name of the tune). Also practiced almost every other morris tune I know.
Tuesday 13/1: practiced Brighton Camp and tune to Bunch of Fives.
Thoughts:
I need to be more conscious of making time for creativity, which I guess is why I'm doing this challenge.
I feel like it's cheating, in a way, to include morris stuff, as that doesn't feel creative the way that writing or drawing or Photoshopping does, but I suppose it's a right-brain activity.
I still seriously need to carve out more time for creativity during the day while I'm not working. Although at least I got lots of housework done today, unlike yesterday, which was simply Made of Fail. Baby steps, baby steps. There's no point in beating oneself up about it; merely observe and change what one doesn't like.
Wonderful quote:

Wonderful quote:
I create order from chaos. Yes, it is itself creation, not mere cleaning. I create the space in which creation may occur. This is a sacred duty; and nothing will happen without that first.
