I just got a new RACV card. Again. That's three in three years. I'm up to silver now. I wonder if next year they'll put back my date of joining again and give me a gold for 50 years of membership?
You should read this awesome webcomic: Luz, Girl of Knowing. It's cute, and eases you into the idea of peak oil and what's going to happen in the next few years. I'm posting this so I don't post my big long panic list of stuff I want to see my loved ones work towards so that they'll survive when the affects of peak oil hits. Because I'm sorry, but it's coming. You can ignore it, you can deny it, but it's already happening. I wouldn't wish a one-speed bike on you all, like what happened in Cuba. Also, I like to have my friends healthy and able to find food to eat.
Better get ready to go. I'm going to the State Library to work on my novel again; this time with Jess instead of Dee. I've actually written a whole page so far this week, and I think I've had a breakthrough about the ending. Hoorah!
Oh, and it looks like I'm going to be doing two weeks of temping at Steph's work. I read an Aussie YA fantasy author's blog the other day. She wrote a book called (something like) How to Dump Your Fairy. In her book's world everyone has a personal fairy, like an agathos daimon. Each fairy has an area of expertise; the heroine has a car-parking fairy. Someone in the author's blog posited that they have a "don't worry, some money will turn up" fairy. I think I have one of those, too. If only I could get a "don't worry, you'll get that awesome job" fairy.
Also, this is an awesome idea. I had saved some seeds from our first harvested pumpkin (!) the other day, but I didn't do it quite thoroughly enough, and Steph threw them out. I'm totally going to start seedsaving in earnest with the tomatoes and any other pumpkins we get, and give them as Winter Solstice gifts. It'll be awesome.
