Bah. Politics.
Oct. 21st, 2007 07:48 pmAfter making a lightning-fast lunch for us all for tomorrow (I used leftovers from two previous dinners in an attempt not to cook on our first really hot day of the season), I have banished myself from our communal living room (kitchen-cum-dining-room-cum-lounge). Nat, and now Steph, are listening to the Great Debate in the leadup to the election. Although shushed snappily by Steph several times, I cannot listen to the poison that drips from the lips of our Prime Minister without making rude remarks, or at the very least, groaning in disbelief.
Best moment of the debate as far as I listened to it: Kevin Rudd, Opposition Leader, almost calling Mr Howard "Mr Coward" in his opening two-minute speech. Classic. I wonder if the Freudian slip exposes Howard's "secret nickname" in Parliament House.
