Well, it's what I'd pray if there *was* a zombie apocalypse.

I totally wrote this yesterday, when the zombie apocalypse was taking over the street outside my work. I heard the shop assistant scream and then was silent, but I wasn't sure if he was eaten or if there was actually a customer in the shop.

Prayer to Zeus

Holy Zeus, Cloud-Gatherer
You wait above our city
While the zombies gather beneath

Deliver us from the underground ones
With your swift sky-bolts
Because everyone knows zombies fear lightning.

The effect of the zombie apocalypse is somewhat lessened by you admitting that you got safely home from work... :o)

Who said I got home? I'm still at work. Luckily we have a bar fridge, and I have some leftovers I've been storing up. I can also get to the coffee shop next door through the corridor. They boarded up the door to the street after the barristas were turned into shambling terrors of milky froth, ate the customers and joined their greyish brethren rampaging the CBD. It took me awhile, but I got the hang of the little milk-frothing attachment, but I'm afraid that the soy milk won't last forever, and there's only six more vegan muffins. I'm hoping John So comes to the rescue soon with his loyal band of zombie fighters, or else I may be done for. I might have to eat my workmate's hideously processed white bread; he won't miss it where he's gone.
