Just got back yesterday from house-sitting at my parents' place. We spent all weekend clearing out more stuff from my room. Another round of stuff (mostly books this time) has gone off to an op shop. Quite satisfying. I hate throwing things out that have a use; I'd much rather put them back into circulation. I've probably thrown out enough clothes to outfit the West Zimbabwean Cricket Team, if they didn't mind a little crossdressing.
The only annoyance is that I think I've left my notebook with my recipe for my beetroot chutney behind. I don't know when I'll next get back over there, and so I'm going to have to put off posting my recipe, which I think is a shame. I'll have to write up the banana bread recipe I got from my mother's recipe card index and veganised. I can't wait to taste it. I think it's going to be pretty exciting.
Also! I managed to get some bananas on clearance from the grocer's, so I saved them up to make the banana bread I've been craving. While I was cooking it this morning, I peeled one of the bananas and discovered that, far from merely being unusually broad, it was instead a siamese twinned banana, being two bananas in one skin. Just as soon as I find my camera cable, I shall upload a picture of this fairground freak.
But for now, we must fly! We have an appointment with a course advisor at the College of Complementary Medicine about Holistic Kinesiology, and then we're going to the Japanese Bath House for a bathe and a half-hour shiatsu massage.
