Candles for Warmth
“We haven’t got any of the power turned on yet,” said Lil. “I had to get Tony to do emergency rewiring, and it was lucky I called when I did because of the long weekend—”
Suzanne stopped listening. The weekend away had been hard; she hadn’t realised this job was going to demand so much. She thought all this was being sorted while she was away ...
“I’ve set up the bed. Well, the mattress.” Lil opened their bedroom door. Along the windowsill and around the edges of the room were candles, flickering softly.
“We shouldn’t get cold tonight,” Lil smiled.
This one's an actual drabble. Precisely 100 words. BOOYAH!
