earlymorningair has already noted in her journal, she and I will be taking part in Midwinta (a group GBLT commitment ceremony) this Saturday. It'll be the first time we'll have exchanged vows in public-- well, exchanged vows in front of witnesses, at least. Here's what the Midwinta website says:
"Midwinta Vows encores the smash hit of the 2004 Midsumma Carnival, Summa Vows, where some 600 people exchanged vows as part of a huge group Commitment Ceremony.

The National Day of Action (NDA) coincides with the first anniversary of the Marriage Amendment Bill 2004, that for the first time in recent history, actively legislated against the recognition of same sex relationships. The Victorian events are being promoted under a theme of 'Equal Love'."
I love my girl. This is why one day we will be stopping off in Amsterdam or Canada to get married - and why we'll be living in the UK, which is far more likely to recognise the legitimacy of our bond.
