Photon, what a day.
We had Cox's xbox party last night. It was fun, and included my first taste (finally!) at Halo 2. Quite nice, for what I've seen so far. Still story intensive - which is a big plus in my books - and the two-weapon at a time is quite nice, though takes a little getting used to, logistics-wise.
Steph and I crashed at the sane hour of two-ish, as I had work today, and she was already exhausted, having stayed up late the night before working on her skirt for Puffing Billy.Woke up Got up at about ten & we played Halo 2 on Cooperative for a bit. Left Dave's about half an hour later than I'd have liked, which was a bit of a worry as I had to drop Steph home on the way. I had work at 2, and I had to drive something like 60k to get home, change, then drive to work (thankfully only about ten minutes' drive with good traffic). I actually made quite good time, and it looked like I'd have ten minutes at home to change.
About five minutes from home, my car overheated (again). I was in such a rush to leave that I didn't check my water levels. Why should I need to? I had a service on the 14th, and I have hardly driven it since (barring the long trip out to Cox's, and, of course, back). Then, after popping the hood to assess the damage (I actually got off the road because something exploded, not because I noticed the steam - The steam's on the left, and the driver in Australia sits on the right), I closed the hood again and went back to the driver's side door.
I had locked my keys in the car.
I hadn't planned on locking the car, it was just an automatic reflex. Half-shut the door, press lock down, hold up handle, shut it. And there were my keys, on my maroon jacket, on the passenger seat. They were clearly visible, what with their bright yellow tag with the RACV details on it.
I got to work eventually. As Steph said (and apparently her first instinct when she got my panicked text message was mirth), these things only seem to happen to me.

Date: 2005-02-20 03:02 pm (UTC)Ow, ow, ghastly day that sounds. Today the worst thing that happened to me was losing my scrubber sponge whilst washing the dishes. I'm sick so I thought it was the end of the world. ('Wheeere is my scrubber sponge ohno how will I clean the dishes aaaaarrrrghhhhhhh'). If I had lived through your day I would have exploded very much like your car did at some point, but with far messier results.
