I'm dizzy-tired again. Blah. Still, amn't needed in theatre until 5.30 tomorrow. Will sleep, then finish comic, then (hopefully) start pencils for new comic I scripted tonight, lovingly dedicated to the Threepenny cast.

I wonder if I'm the only one who wants to read Macheath/Brown slash? Or Polly/Lucy, come to that. (Don't look at me like that. Polly has this line which is something like, "I never expected to fall in love with a man", and I always expect the emphasis on the final syllable...)

Then I plan on going to the theatre tomorrow and skewering the fucktard who left the blue trunk, aluminium bucket and wooden crate onstage in the final scene.

...Die Dreigroschenoper ('The Threepenny Opera') in 1928. Based on John Gay's The Beggar's Opera of 1728, the work is the product of a highly successful collaboration between playwright Bertolt Brecht and composer Kurt Weill.

You know - I'm exceedingly fond of Nick Cave's version of Mack the Knife. Nice and brutal, and directly translated from the original German.

I was surprised at the quality of voices......brilliant!! I had no idea that opera was so popular, as a choice of vocal training.

Did you see it last night?
Well, for singers, opera's kinda the ultimate thing to train for.

Hmm. I was on seven times, I think, or only four times if you don't count the curtain, when I don't want to be seen. When I picked up the card, when I picked up the bottle, when I moved the basin onstage, when I moved the coffee table.

You're unobservant. ;)

Okay I saw you come through the door at one time...though it was "off stage".

I saw you "on stage twice".

One moving the coffee table and the other when you picked up the bottle.

The others I didn't notice! :)

Scott did mention he thought about bringing in blue fuzzy handcuffs for Brown to proffer to Mack, but we both agreed that it was perhaps a little much...

Oh, and I'm trying to work out if Tiger Brown is a parody of any one from that era?

Quite probably. Wouldn't know who, though.

Though I'm sure you know all of this, I still though this (http://www.mil-millington.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/writing.htm?urlID=814655365) post was very amusing...
