Well, you can't do the third. That's the point. I discovered that when I tried. It was part of my "cross Generator with Boxer and get the best of both worlds" approach.

The second is simple. If you look at the bottom of my page, you'll see two hands. They are my skip forwards/skip backwards links. When you're coding S1, you have two separate boxes to put the links for skip f/b into, then you have a box to type your code for the two of them together, which'll read something like:
[td]%%skip backward%%[/td][td]%%skip forward%%[/td]

Then you'll have a code in your layout (%%skiplinks%%) that tells it to put the code from that box into your layout. I tried to hard code in %%skip backward%% and %%skip forward%% into separate places on my layout, on either side of the links to my friends page & calendar, but as you can see from the white space on either side, it didn't work.

Not sure about the separate skip links, but the "full names of friends" you can. It's part of the Boxer layout.
