Anyone know how to put the relevant userpic next to your recent posts in S1?

Only S2 does that as far as I knowb - S1 only has a placeholder for one userpic, although I'm not sure what happens if you put the userpic placeholder in every entry... I doubt it will work like S2.

It doesn't seem to. Bah. That's really annoying. I don't have the CSS -- it IS CSS they use in S2, right? -- knowledge to code an S2 style.

I'm not sure what they use in S2. I know a fair bit of CSS and HTML and looked at S2 and went "WTF?!" and promptly went back to S1. There seems to be a huge jump in the "you must be this smart to code" level between S1 and S2. Personally I much prefer the simplicity of S1 but wish that it had the same versatility as S2. It wouldn't have been that hard to make a middle-ground, a happy medium, but I guess the folks at LJ don't believe in S1.5.

It doesn't work in S1. It's the only thing I like S2 over S1 for.

I cannot code S2. I don't know any CSS, and that's what it uses, isn't it? Besides, this layout's taken me about eight hours and it's only HTML...

*nods* Like you said, there's a HUGE gap. I mean, yes, S2 is more easily customised, but I don't want a customised style that everyone has. I want my own.

Both styles are hard to code, but S1 is easier. Yeah, S2 take some kind of advanced CSS coding.

It's frickin' insane. I don't know anyone with enough CSS knowledge that customizing S2 is easy.
