I have a headache, and am just generally pissy with the world. I haven't had enough sleep recently, and the last two weeks have been a constant of changing sleep schedules.

(Some time later)

You know what? Usually my friends list manages to piss me off, or depress me (I have a lot to read through, and the good is mostly eclipsed by the bad), but tonight it cheered me up. I'm still in a bad mood, but it's a much lighter one--one which isn't likely to remove genetalia of anyone who looks at it funny. Ah, thank god for porn, [livejournal.com profile] doubtful_salmon and Something Positive. Three totally unrelated concepts, by the way.

Gods, I need me some food. Today I have had some corn disc thingies, some water, and some Vita Weats. This is called "I was too damn poor to pay for lunch because I had four dollars less than I thought I did, and I never have time to eat before I leave, so thank god I packed snacks". Today had one good highlight in it, though; I finally read 1602, issue 7 (I'd wanted to reread the other six first). Hooboy, what an ending. I can't wait until either 1) issue 8 is out, or 2) if issue 8 is out, I have the money/time to buy it.

But of course! I got my copy out in order to check the punctuation and line breaks in the quote, actually. *grins*

Someone else who's read it! How surprising. It's such a brilliant book. I keep recommending it to people, then they ask me what it's like and I explain it to them and then they give me odd looks...

*nods* I've also read Akenhaten and A Piece of Work (can't remember the title of the second exactly)

I've read bits of Akhenaten. It was my first ever run-in with dorothy porter - my friend found the book (because we were studying Akhenaten in Ancient History in high school). Later we showed our history teacher and he said that the writer 'just thought she was being clever' which really irritated me, as I thought the poetry was brilliant.
And then I studied monkey's mask later in uni! I still count it as one of the best thing I've ever studied, ever. I'll have to go read A Piece Of Work now...
