FUCK.
I just checked the uni's website, looking for the dates of withdrawal and so forth for this year.
I didn't realise the Summer Term had already started. I didn't think that I'd be taking the subject, frankly, due to RMIT offer. I didn't realise it started so early. Last Monday, in fact.
FUCKITY FUCKITY FUCK FUCK.
So what do I do now? Try to catch up? Drop the subject? I didn't bloody know. Stupid Unimelb. Aren't they supposed to warn us that uni's starting again?
[Edit: Wait. According to the subject timetable, it doesn't start until February. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE DATES ON THE WEBSITE WERE CORRECT, AND DIDN'T SAY "5th January" WHEN THEY MEANT FEBRUARY. SOME OF US HAVE HISTORIES OF HEART PROBLEMS IN OUR FAMILIES, THANKS.]

I gave up on their web information after a couple of weeks there... :(
February sounds a bit better- they tend to start a week or two before everyone else does- that's just going from the standard courses like when I was there... *shrugs* Good luck with it all, though. :)

Date: 2004-01-14 04:29 pm (UTC)I've been studying there for 3 years now, and there's not an aspect of my enrollment they haven't fucked up.
They have great academic staff (some of em, like Michael), but don't support them (when he goes o/s for conferences, they don't even give him a food budget!). They have good machines and resources, but don't staff them. And their admin and bureaucracy are hopeless.
Enjoy your stay at RMIT University.

Date: 2004-01-15 05:44 am (UTC)My dad's just moved into a teaching/facilitating role at RMIT, and he's much happier than he was at Monash. He's finding RMIT far more likely to accept change.
And if you'll look over the post again, you'll see that the uni screwing me over is in fact University of Melbourne, not RMIT. I'm not going to make any judgements about how good or bad my course at RMIT will be until I've actually been learning there.
RMIT
Date: 2004-01-15 02:46 pm (UTC)If I get one more bill for a course I don't know exist, haven't studied and am not enrolled in, I'll go spare though!
Am also sick of the continual stuff-ups in my accy transcripts (it *was* nice when they gave me a H1 I hadn't earned for one subject, until I realised the mistake and had to go correct it!), but that's another matter.
Anyway, hopefully everything will go smoothly for you.
What area is your Dad in? Michael's in Comp Sci (mainly AI/intelligent agents).
