Dec. 25th, 2003 11:36 amThis is an amusing "Burger King Holiday" Christmassy song that I know Liam for one would appreciate, having worked at Hungry Jack's. (For non-Australians: Burger King sold or possibly leased the rights to BK stores in Australia to a brand? company? called Hungry Jack's. Thusly HJ stores are almost identical to BK stores. I heard that the American company that owns BK wanted to open BK stores in Australia, but couldn't, because HJ owned the rights to the products etcetera. More recently, BK stores have opened as well. The one that used to be in the city has already closed. It lasted perhaps a year. HJ are still operating as usual.)
Also, this is the funniest idea for a Christmas gift exchange evar. Makes me wish I had some moleskin pants. ;)
Liam? Remember Sam's Snipe Sheet? He's got a new one up. Very worth reading.
Sam: MAN I am reading Monstrous Regiment and it is like: bleakbleakbleakvimesbleakbleakbleakdarkhumourBLEAK BLEAK BLEAK* With a side helping of DEATH AND GORE. Pterry, so needs to up his antidepressant meds.
Jaida: Wow. If Pterry is all bleakbleakbleakvimesbleakbleakbleakdarhumourBLEAK BLEAK BLEAK then his next book with Gneil is going to be like, "AND THEN THEY ALL DIED. ... HORRIBLY. ... WITH SPORKS STICKING OUT OF THEIR EYEBALLS. Death PAIN death HAHAHA BOO!"
Sam: Yeah, I think maybe he hangs about with Gneil too often.
*dies laughing, almost falls off chair*
...And today's What The Fuck Gift is... from Aunty Tracy. It's a Delta Goodrem CD. I refuse to listen to it on principle, if not because I have a discerning musical taste. What was your WTF gift for this year?

Date: 2003-12-25 02:38 am (UTC)The sweet potato was apparently a joke, however the real present consisted of a decorative candle. It was shaped like a Christmas tree and ridiculously sparkly.

Date: 2003-12-26 09:09 am (UTC)Well, see, I was using this clockwork monk, and he doesn't self-flagellate. He walks around crossing himself and raising his cross to his lips. I probably have the link to the article about this monk... crafted in some time that was a while ago. Very nifty.
Ah, sorry 'bout that. I only shifted to Style 2 because I thought I was going to be able to customise one of the styles they had, but I couldn't.

Date: 2003-12-25 05:24 pm (UTC)Maybe you asked for a Delta Goodrem (to do with as you see fit - god knows I could use one) and someone got confused?
What was your WTF gift for this year?
Les Miserables Part II.

Date: 2003-12-27 06:53 am (UTC)Have you ever seen those stands outside of posh card shops that sell personalised mugs and so forth? Well, this one was tiny gift bags with sweets inside. Because my sister and I have unusual names (Nyssa and Danika respectively), they never have our names. One of the bags had "They didn't have your name" on it, the same way that the frequently have generic things like "Mother" or "Sister" printed on them. We were just making comments about how "They didn't have your name" was a totally crap thing to give anyone. That's about it. I guess we have a strange sense of humour. :)
