Speed was the game of choice in the greenroom at dance competitions and performances. Deal out two piles of five cards, and then two in the middle, face down. Then split the rest of them evenly. Each player takes the first five cards and you try to put them down in the right sequence on the cards in the middle and get rid of your pile first.
Got so fast at it we could go through an entire game in less than a minute thirty.
It's mostly what can go on what. For instance, you can cover a 2 with either a 3 or an Ace and nothing else. ^^ So you can also screw your opponent up by sliding your ace down where they wanted their 2.
I haven't played in ages. We used to have tournaments in the greenroom. We'd spend houuuurs and hours at it while our dance-moms were doing hair and makeup for whoever wasn't playing.
