Nov. 20th, 2003 05:21 amI have an itchin' to use my new icons.
Oh, and this is an interesting article on slash. It's fucking awesome. Also, it's doesn't tie everything back to "OMG!! TWO GUYS TOGETHER ARE SO HAWT!!" which isn't really my reason for slash. It's *a* reason, and a valid one (don't get me started on the social place of yaoi in Japanese society...), but not the only one. Read it if you're curious as to what the hell it's all about, or if you're just a fannish type. And it mentions Jeeves and Wooster. All is right with the world.
And this, in the spirit of the thing, is a very amusing article on Wodehouse from Hugh Laurie, who played Bertie Wooster.
Hmm. I seem to have stayed up awfully late. Oops.

Date: 2003-11-19 02:28 pm (UTC)Got to love this line:
He asked me if I would like to play Bertram W. Wooster in 23 hours of televised drama, opposite the internationally tall Fry in the role of Jeeves.
Internationally tall. Heehee.
I'm motivated to read some PG Wodehouse now, and/or watch some of the TV show.
I'd quite like to watch some more of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie", also . . .

Date: 2003-11-20 05:08 am (UTC)Wow, here I turn up in my Bowler Hat Icon, and I stumble upon this brilliant article, how fitting.
I just realised that I've seen all of five minutes of one episode of this on TV. Unfortunately, at the time I was sick and stuffed full of antibiotics, so when I saw the few minutes that I did, I thought I was halucinating, that something so fabulous could actually not really exist beyond the heavily medicated state I was in...So I never went looking for it again. *sigh*
(that was a really long sentence...)

Date: 2003-11-20 07:31 am (UTC)oh, yes, In my rush to go out and buy DVDs, I've forgotten they cost money. Well, I'm sure I can do without a lesser-needed organ or two, and the black market's always willing to receive charity...
