I went to see Gettin' Square, which is a brilliant Australian movie, and you should all go see it. David Wenham plays the sort of junkie you could swear you caught the tram home with. He's astoundingly unattractive. Sam Worthington as the main character Barry is rather cute, and I wish I could say where I've seen him before. He looks very familiar. It's a pretty funny movie, and it's a successful crim flick. I didn't think Aussies were any good at that, but this one proved me wrong. Thematically similar to Lock, Stock.

Very quick post, as I have a plot bunny forming and I want to skin the bastard before he gets away.

Damnit. We actually had free tickets to the premiere, but it clashed with the wedding preps :(

That? Is a particularly disturbing but apt phrase. XD Glad you had fun.

...which I haven't seen.

I did IMDB him, but I haven't seen any of the movies he's been in. Apparently he's had two guest appearances in shows, but I've never seen JAG, and I would have thought it's unlikely that I'm going to recognise him from one episode of Water Rats, when I have only seen a few episodes, and those some time ago.

I thought Two Hands was a good Aussie crim flick. I can't think of any other that I've seen, though.

Heh, haven't seen it.

I haven't seen a lot of movies that people look incredulous when I say I haven't seen them.

Meh - I've massive gaps though. The number of times I have to say 'I've heard it's good' rather than 'Yeah, it's good' embarrasses me, rather. But there's very few films that I get surprised people haven't seen. I think it's pretty much Star Wars and any Indiana Jones movie. Oh, and probably Jurassic Park - big ol' blockbusters that it feels like the world has seen. Anything else, and I evince no surprise, feeling the shame of my own cinematic gaps.

*nods* I've seen Star Wars... but once, and about six years ago. I barely remember it. I want to rewatch the trilogy so I can keep up with Mick, Dean, Phil, Chris et al... I was in the car with them on the way to Chris's wedding, and they were discussing it in great detail. I felt rawther out of my depth.

I can't even think of the all movies I haven't seen off the top of my head. Go, Two Hands... then there's the classic movies that everyone's seen. Can't think of any of those offhand, either. And I haven't seen Hedwig. But that's more a strong recommendation by a friend than anything else...
