Dilemma: Endless Nights came out today, and at least one person on my friends list already has it.
But! They're in Canada, and I'm in Australia. It may not be out here yet.
Also: I have no comic stores near me, and would need to go into the city to get it.

So what do I do? Try and get things done early, and go in, or try and get it tomorrow?

Apathy...taking...over. I think I get it tomorrow, if it's out here. Yes! A decision! I'm so proud of me.

Added [livejournal.com profile] doubtful_salmon, not least because she has one of my favourite Ford Prefect quotes:
"My doctor says that I have a malformed public duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fiber, and that I am therefore excused from saving Universes."
- Ford Prefect in Douglas Adams' Life, the Universe and Everything

HP fic Scenes from Another Life makes me wail. In a good way.

Not much to choose from here, though.

Hard to choose, but it's so pretty. *pets it*

Only put here because I like it. It barely counts if there's only one icon...

Whee, Tara. And it's shiny.
[livejournal.com profile] arborwin:
This one's pretty. I also *think* it's Cal. I like Cal. He likes shiny things, like me. ^_^

Av and Sandra may be all about the Gael Garcia, but I really fancied Diego Luna. And I loved Tenoch and Julio's relationship.

Mreh. It took me long enough to note that you had added me.

Well, I am only a beginning Neil Gaiman fan, but I feel I have much to learn from you and your journal about many things indeed....

Yeah, that would be me; the sad Neil fan who has accumulated lots of knowledge through reading his blog.

*snugs* Welcome! I'm sure we have stuff to learn from each other. Or something. Leave me alone, I just got up.

I must confess I've been reading his blog for a while too. Not religiously but I do often sit around and read it for a while. (Not that it makes sense on many occasions, as I hadn't--until about a month ago--ever made an attempt to read anything he'd written.)

*snerks* Well, I got onto Neil via 1) Good Omens, and 2) an old obsession with Themes for my computer. I found an excellent site with good themes, that included themes for Sandman (Death and Delirium, specifically). That site linked through to other sites about the Endless... and it grew from there.

Yeah. You see I'd been reading his blog for a bit, and I don't know why. Someone told me to, I guess, about a year before.

And then I was in the book store, really angry because I couldn't find anything--one of those moments where I was really frustrated that Douglas Adams hadn't left behind him several billion other works of genius, but would take anything in a similar genre...and the rest, as they say, is history. (Basically I remembered a while back I asked someone whether Hitchhiker's Guide was worth a read; she said Good Omens was better. It was good but I still like Hitchhiker's Guide more.)

I refuse to play favourites between DA and NG, because I love them both. I refuse to say I prefer one over the other...

You should read Neil's book about DNA and the H2G2 phenomenon; it's really interesting. The name temporarily eludes me for the moment, though...

Don't Panic?

I've ordered that off half.com. Let's hope the credit card doesn't get cancelled.

I suppose at this point I can check on its status. It HAS been two days.

Mreh. Shipped! Don't know if should trust person though, as spelled Adams "Adamms." Perhaps it was a typo.
