Handly clue for spotting Pagans #892: look for wax spots on their clothing. Your average Pagan has more wax on their clothing than a medieval monk. With a candle fixation.
Not to mention occasional scorch marks. More than once someone has asked me the symbology of the big bucket of water near my alter. Why, it symbolises that altar cloths and robes are flammable, candles fall over, and pagans burning THEMSELVES is just too embarrasing.
