changelingCygnusfap has some brilliant things to say about That Book That Everyone's Sick Of Hearing About. I heartily agree; this book has far more in common with Beckett or that-guy-who-wrote-The-Three-Executioners than it does the previous books.
And I can't help but think that OOTP is the Kid A of the HP canon. This is JK throwing down the gauntlet and saying that if we're really with her, we'll follow her, even after OOTP. It'll separate those who enjoy the books for themselves from the sycophants.
I want to read it again. Because I am a glutton for punishment. But my sister has my copy.
I now own the coolest LJ nick ever: asphodelirium. I wish it was my default nick.
