Em,

That's cool. Hmm...Performance went fine. I don't know if I told you, but I ended up doing lighting design (what little there was to work with) and operation and ushering/Front of House as well as singing in the chorus for the final opera. That was...fun. :)

We have LAN parties very occasionally. This one was out at Cox's place - Woop Woop - and was only the second one we've had. I think I'm getting a little better at those games - not losing quite as pitifully as I had at the last one. But considering I'd only gotten my 3D graphics card & therefore Quake III about a week beforehand, I can feel justified.

I'm the one who loses most pitifully, and is the most inventive curser. Heh...I'd love to play multiplayer on Alpha, but Cox hates turnbased games & Dunni's lost his copy. Grr...

Haven't played Red Alert & Urban Terror, but I didn't even end up being there the whole time as I unfortunately ended up having a shift at work. I did get a copy of HalfLife though, and we played CounterStrike (a mod for HL, where you're either terrorists or counterterrorists) for a bit.

I love pool and am playing a reasonable amount at uni. I'm not losing as pitifully as I was before, as I'm getting my eye in with the practise we've been doing. I'm still not the best player, though.

You should play Kelly Pool - relies less on skill. Lots of fun with more than two people.

Can't blame everyone for being after Bryony & Erin, but I admit they're not exactly the centre of my heart's desire. :)
Incidentally, I saw Erin today. We stopped for a brief chat. She's doing well.

I must say that I'd much rather be studying than facing the prospects of getting a job... *shudder* especially considering that an Arts degree doesn't necessarily qualify you for anything... :)

I know how you feel about work. I only do three shifts at one place and that's MORE than enough. Still, if I stick it out until December I think I may get a (marginal) payrise, because I think you do when you've been working there a year. Here's hoping, anyway.

Hope you get a roomie sorted. Issy and I were going to move in together earlier this year because she needed escape from the sharehouse from hell & I needed escape from my family. Unfortunately, I had a lot of shit crop up in my life and we lost contact for a month or so. Last I checked she was moving in with Kate S. and I lost my ticket out of this madhouse. *grins* Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Hmm. Had the Queer Department picnic today, and you know what that means...free food! (And fairy bread. *snerks*) It was meant to be on South Lawn, but it rained, so it was held in this small foyer-type place outside the Queer Office on the First Floor. (But not in the Queer Lounge on the third floor, which would have made sense.) So: it was out QD's 6th birthday, so I got mudcake. Mudcake is good.

Mmmph. Got an infected throat, I think. That's bad. I've had a few sore throats, but this is worse. This is like my throat with PMS: it's sore, irritable, red and feels puffy. :)

So, on a high note, I'll leave it here.

Dani.
