I had four cans of V today, to keep me awake. According to the cans, I should probably be dead.

Survived D&L the standard way, viz. doing no work and chatting to Greg. I really need to create a couple of DL leaflets & a poster soon so I don't fail. Had our weekly workshop with Nathan, Greg & Jess. Showed them the SBs outline. Talked about it for a bit. Got a few ideas as to what I still need to flesh out, & things to think about. Nathan is, in theory, going to be emailing me his manuscript so far for critical wossname. Haven't got the email yet, though.

Just called sister, who asked me to pick her up from last train. She's catching Night Rider now. Well, that's just fine. It's not as though I was waiting up on her request. I mean, I don't have work at 10am tomorrow or anything. Bah.

I am perplexed. Apparently there are 5 people crushing on me. I find this difficult to believe.

I am painting an Altoids tin. It's fun. Australia should sell Altoids so I could do more of them.

(and destroy her will to live)

  1. Ensure that firstly she has been suffering from sleep deprivation for about week and also has an early start the next day

  2. When she is starting to think of going to bed, tell her you're going out and ask her to pick you up from the last train.

  3. Miss the last train, but don't tell your sister.

  4. Wait until she calls, then tell her you lost track of time and will catch the Night Rider.

  5. Call her at 2.30am and tell her you fell asleep and missed your stop. Will she come and pick you up?

  6. She will tell you to catch a taxi. Curse her name.

  7. Don't catch the taxi. Instead, walk from the frightening, druggie-infested station.

  8. Enjoy that warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach that your sister will not be able to sleep because it's half an hour after you originally called and you're still not home.

  9. 3.30am and you're sister's still awake. Well done.

Guess who has work this morning.

A statement posted on an internet forum in the name of an Islamic militant group indicated Chechen rebels were responsible for taking over a school in the southern Russian town of Beslan, but blamed the Russian government for the bloody outcome of the siege.

The statement issued in the name of The Islambouli Brigades distanced itself from the school attack, in which death toll reports were running as high as 250, though it did not criticise it and called the hostage-takers' demands "justified." The authenticity of the statement could not be verified.

"Dante said that the hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who in time of crisis remain neutral". -- Garrison Keillor

...

*dies laughing* The lowest circle of Hell is reserved for the Swiss. At least they'd have good chocolate. But on the other hand, it'd probably be filled with cuckoo clocks.
