It's the Ghost Pirate LeChuck!

If you haven't seen the trailer for Pirates of the Carribbean, go now. It's like they made a cool-looking version of Monkey Island, and stuck in a bunch of attractive actors (Orlando Bloom looks so much better than he does in LOTR...and there's Johnny Depp, looking ravishing) and Geoffrey Rush, who is not only a good actor, but Australian to boot.

I want to see this movie!

I'm taking off to Bendigo tomorrow, to spend time with family, who took off Friday of last week. I'll be back Thursday.

I had to argue with dad then mum over the phone to get to drive up, as mum had "concerns". I convinced her to let me drive by offering to call in every so often on the way. It's only a two hour drive for fuck's sake. Jeez.

Oh, and I didn't end up doing the 24 hour comic challenge, as it was late when I started. I talked to Zan, and we're prolly going to do it together sometime later...around May or so. Misery loves company.

I did get a start on the Orpheus comic that I've been trying to write, though. I'd like to get it done this week if possible. I got the first page scanned and coloured last night, and it looks kinda spiffy. Pity the next page looks like shite.

I assume the movie is based on the Disneyland ride, which also served as much of the inspiration for the Monkey Island games ;-)

Yeah, this has been generally wondered about in other places. Having never been to America, let alone on the ride itself, I can't say. But then again, you can get inspiration almost anywhere...

I rode it at Tokyo Disney. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I'd call inspiring.

Now the Small World ride--that's inspiring, if you're thinking of starting a cult... :p
