People who've been around me recently probably know that I've got a deep, burning desire to get to the US soonish for at least one comic con as we don't seem to have any in Australia.

Comic-Con International: San Diego 2003
Comic-Con International returns to the San Diego Convention Center on July 17-20, 2003. Coming off its biggest year ever, Comic-Con roars back with an exciting slate of guests and events, that we’re already starting to work on! With over 63,000 attendees, professionals and exhibitors in 2002, and over 600 hours of programming, films, anime, gaming, and special events, Comic-Con is the one show you can’t afford to miss!

Confirmed guests for 2003 include:
Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Coraline, Sandman); Richard and Wendy Pini (celebrating 25 years of Elfquest); Terry Moore (celebrating 10 years of Strangers In Paradise); Larry Lieber (Silver Age Marvel writer/artist and the artist of the Spider-Man newspaper strip); Stan Goldberg (Archie and Silver Age Marvel Comics artist); Sid Jacobson (longtime editor of Harvey Comics; and Julius Schwartz (DC editor emeritus!)

* Whimpers. *
I'd join you too in going there as well. If not simply for Gaiman, but also for Terry Moore and Sid Jacobson.
And of course, since Michael Silverstri and Michael J. Straznitski is also rumoured to be attending.

Neil Gaiman all the way, baby.

I know the name Terry Moore. What's he done?

Strangers In Paradise.
Fantastic little series. It's not horribly violent, has a damn good plot, and is somewhat romantic. Still, I love it anyway. Very realistic, all in all. You just might like it.

I'll look into it...you may need to nag me, though.

Believe me, I'll nag.
It's also got the main character Katchoo chasing after her best friend, Francine. Later on in the series, is this rant about how Katchoo can see into a person and like them completely, no matter what gender, etc, etc... I wrote it up somewhere word for word, just so I won't quote it badly.

Aw. There, there.

Though I don't think I'll be in the right country when the convention is taking place. I'm going to Ireland next semester. ^^;;
