I think I'm a soulless bint from hell who has no compassion. I know what happened in Bali was terrible, likewise the whole September 11 thing. I know lots of people died. My emotional trauma? Not a blip.

This shooting at Monash, though? Where I went to kindergarten and thirteen years of swimming lessons and squad. More than that, it's the sort of thing that we only read about happening in obscure Scottish primary schools and US high schools. This sort of thing isn't supposed to happen in Australia...

The stars seem to be in a bad alignment. Maybe Nostradamus was a few years off that Apocalypse prediction...I don't know. BJ was right, though; 2002 sucks.

You're not a soulless bint. There are plenty of us who weren't directly affected by the bombings in Bali. It doesn't mean you're 'bad.' You can't be expected to be emotional over a country far away (well, depends where you live) and people you don't really know. It's perfectly normal. It was a terrible thing, I'm sure...ack, I read an article on it, and they haven't even identified half of the bodies yet...everyone's burnt beyond recognition. Anyway.
