Sam Gogh ("the theatre director") just contacted me asking if I wanted a part in his Fringe Festival show! Caroline (the writer-director of Relic) put him on to me...

I'm so flattered! Wow. I've been recommended.

I have a whole new vigour. Maybe if I get on top of my uni work my parents will let me perform...

Which of the plays? is it Hamletmachine or Dr. Faustus lights the lights?

Coz I'm in Dr. Faustus.

I know you're in Dr Faustus, and I don't know.

Yeah. But to Sam.

Still, he does live next door to me, and I've been meaning to go around and apologise for my housemate turning him down flat for any further collaborations...

*grins* I know it's Sam, and considering my parents have banned me from any future plays this semester, I think it's going to be a moot point.

But still...a director liked what I can do enough to tell someone else! I may not generally have the "inner critic" Kathleen was going on about in Writing for Performance when it comes to my writing (I had to make it up), but I definitely have it about my acting.

Much exciting.

Sam's shows don't tend to have a lot of rehearsal time. And they're both one week seasons. Much less needing-of-Dani than Relic and Business of Murder.

BUT DO YOUR UNI WORK FIRST.

That's good. And look, above! Note the "getting-on-top-of-uni-work-first"ness?

Yes. Have you finished all your essays?

No, I'm writing them now.

I'm sorry. I can't stay silent.

You're talking about a Sam Gough show. A Sam Gough show. Have you seen one? Been in one? If not, please talk to someone who has, and make an informed decision, though I guess if you're just in it for the love of theatre then it will hardly matter.

Just...don't go in blind. Like I did, all those years ago.

Haven't been in one, have seen... four? About that, anyway. I wouldn't be going in blind, in any case. :)

Squeeeee! On your behalf, of course.

I'm most impressed, and not at all worthy of you, oh great Dani.

He's an obsessive, controlling, avant-garde theatre snob.
