The Magic Puddings

I have two small gluten-free puddings for one of Steph's colleagues boiling on the stove. I have one large pudding for the morris picnic hanging from a kitchen cabinet to be boiled tonight. I have three small puddings in the mixing bowl for Steph's, Nat's and my family Christmases that still need the addition of at least 30g of candied cherries.

I am so nearly done.

Christmas pudding/plum pudding. Mine're in a cloth, like the image, but they're a bit rounder than that!

It confuses me. It keeps saying a pudding can be "any dessert". Is it like a custard? But it's...hard? *eyes it mistrustfully*

No. It's nothing like custard. Custard's what you have over pudding. Boiled puddings are moist, dense, heavy cakes. Have you ever had Christmas cake? It's like that, but really, really dense. Like the inside of a planet. Mudcake is light and fluffy in comparison.
