I just lost an entire agonised post that I thought had already gone through. Fark.

Short version: I can't get a job, we can't get out of the house, my parents-in-law are freaks who don't like the smell of food. Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck-fuck.

Bummer that Steph can't come - it's hard doing coupl-y things on Christmas Day. I thought I'd do salad-y stuff. Anyway I hope it doesn't rain :).

Re: the smell of food. When I was in Godstowe one of my buddies was banished from her kitchen by an evil Housemistress who thought her cooking smelt "too Asian". She was devastated - she loved cooking, so she used to come over and use my kitchen. I hope you in-laws settle down and learn to deal with exotic smells!! xox

Well, we're doing better than last year, when I was in Queensland and thus two states away. We'll get the morning and evening together, but not lunchtime. We're going to stay with my parents in the evening, so you may see her as she comes to meet me. It all depends on when she gets there.

Oh, we're allowed to cook, it's just that we have to have the extractor fan on the whole time. Because, y'know, god forbid the kitchen smell like food. I do understand, though. The problem is the kitchen and the lounge are open plan. I dunno, I still think it's dumb.

About the food - yeah I get the open plan thing-y! It will be swell when you get your own digs, hey?! Hopefully I can get to meet Steph, Duncan and I are going to the gardens then off to his Grandma's in Cheltenham.

Steph'll be joining me when her family's Christmas is done, so I guess you might already be gone. We should catch up next year, instead of waiting for next Christmas.
