I'm trying to register a domain name for my blog. I can't get hold of my old domain name, as I dragged my feet, and my provider, discountdomainregistry.com, won't let me buy it again, even if I wanted to.

However.

I have searched for my desired name at ddr. I have "added it to the basket". And now it's just sitting here. I can't buy it, or even find any sort of virtual checkout. I've been haring all over the bloody website, and I can't find it anywhere. I have my debit card in my hand; I want to give you money, you bastards! Why won't you let me??

Any suggestions, guys?

Possibly. Though it's not the cost I'm having trouble with, it's the difficulty of registering! I like .net, though. I'm not an organisation (.org), and I'm not a commercial company (.com). Plus .net is way more stylish.

Maybe try another company? Or are you dead set on that one? I use actnowdomains.com and they have a pretty straight forward checkout.
