I was looking at a diagram of the "new" solar system, and thinking about the old mnemonic: "Mother Very Easily Makes Jam" (can't actually remember the rest).

So I thought up a new one. It really shows that I've been working in a nursing home for the last three months. And exactly what my reading material has been (care assessments and care plans):

Mother Very Easily Makes Cranberry Juice So Uncle Neatly Poos Everyday.

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Eris.

My Very Elderly Mother Just Sits Up Near Pop was the mnemonic I was brought up with.

Maybe I'll just tack an Everyday on the end of it. :P

Except there's Ceres between Mars and Jupiter now. I'm not quite sure how that would change your mnemonic!

I'm still enormously amused at how apt the event of discovery and naming of Eris has involved so much discord. Mind you, I had an arguement with a work colleague today who tried to insist that there was no Greek goddess named Eris. -_-;
