Went to Morris Dancing last night for the first time. Steph wasn't interested in coming along (she's just told me she was interested, it's just that she had homework, so decided not to come, and so made herself an "unhappy cookie"), and our friend Sean (who did lighting design for Dorian last year) who was my contact wasn't going to be there, so I had no safety blanket, as it were. However, the women (and there were only women there last night, though I know they have a few guys in their troupe) were welcoming and friendly.

I mostly did okay, though I kept fucking up a few spots of the dance that most affected everyone else, as it's the sort of group dance that revolves on patterns and weaving of people. Still, by the end I'd very nearly got Amadeus, the first of the two dances I learnt. It finishes very late, though, as afterwards e veryone gs=ets drubnk and has sex9rs0rs - special alternate reality brought to you by tired, giggly Steph wanting to go to bed everyone heads into the bar to talk about upcoming events and gigs. I kept consulting my mental calendar in my head when they were asking if people were available for this or that, but of course I'm not going to be remotely able to dance with them for some time, assuming I keep it up.

Unfortunately, I seem to have hurt my fodorubnk foot. I'm not sure whether I actually injured it last night due to my very old and dodgy runners (have had 'em since I was eight), since I have been having a quiet ache in them every morning when I first get up. Nothing like the pain that attended last night, though – that was a very strident ache. It still hurt today. I found myself altering the way I was walking when I went to pick Steph up the the station, and then my ankle started aching. I wish I was near my mum. She might give me a clue as to whether it's something to worry about, or just bruised drubnk muscle, or somethingahahaahahahahahadrubnk. Haven't spoken to her yet. Dad said that maybe I might need an x-ray, which scared me a bit, but at least his opinion's non-medical. Mum agreeing would be reason to be scared. Bet she'll just say that it's bruised and it needs rest.

Hope it's better before next week. I'd like to go back, and if I don't go next week I don't think I'll ever get around to it again.
