What did you think of absinthe?

I had some in a cranberry martini the other night, and can't say I'm a particular fan. Tasted too much like gin for me.

Oh, that was a quote, by the bye. This is far from being my first glass. Not even my first bottle, come to that (it is my SECOND). Not all tonight. My liver plans to stay where it is.

If it tasted like gin, sirrah, then it was INFERIOR ABSINTHE and ought to be shot at the stake. Um. Thingie.

I recall my friend Mickey (almost said best friend haha, not quite that intimate) bought some absinthe and I bought some absinthe and we tried them both on the night of his hauswarming, and his tasted like cleaning fluid, while mine tasted like MANNA FROM THE GODS. The difference is he bought Czech absinthe, and I bought German, having both read reviews of Czech absinthe and basing my judgement beyond that in its label, which was picturesque and Victorianish.

This is old clean washing, not fresh clean washing. This is the washing that has not been put away for weeks, partly because I have fuckall storage space, and partly because lack of storage space means stuff is piled in front of my drawers.

Teh absinthe was gooood.
