Panel I would fucking kill people to get to:
(Worldcon) Monday 2:00 pm How Do You Know When You're Dead?
Neil Gaiman
Scott Edelman (M)
Larry Niven
Terry Pratchett
Uncle River
Connie Willis

Don't know anyone but NG and TP on the panel, but with that sort of question (and those two names in any case), I DON'T NEED TO. Why do all the good cons have to be in the States (or the UK, in the case of the Discworld)??

Had second shift at Target. Spent three hours on my feet, learning how to use a register. It is harder than I thought, but still not too difficult. Just complex. And I know Total/9/Enter means something, but I can't remember what. It might be a cash back on a refund/exchange.

My back and shoulders are KILLING ME. I blame Target.

Just remembered that I have done nothing of my Design and Layout stuff. I wonder whether it's worth going to class. I probably should anyway, otherwise I will fail (I hate this class so much, because it's boring and at 9am, and if I allow myself to skip one, I will skip them all).

If I was a better artist, I might consider submitting something to [livejournal.com profile] apiphile. But I'm not. And I didn't even manage to get anything written specifically for Visible Ink.

Reeeeally want a sleep in. Won't get one tomorrow, due to class. Won't get one until Monday, and that hardly counts (not sleep-in-ish enough for my tastes). This is because Saturday = 10am shift at Target, Sunday = Father's Day.

I had real content here, but I can't remember what it was.

Went to brunch with Nys and Mother. Went to Pancake Parlour (All is forgiven!!), where I had the breakfast menu's equivalent to Canadian pancakes, my stock order: pancakes with unsalted butter, maple syrup, and eggs and bacon on the side. Maple syrup + eggs & bacon should be wrong, but it isn't. It's very, very right. YUM! Their orange juice was also really nice. It was clearly freshly squeezed.

There will be a Discworld Con in Melbourne, in January 2006. Details over here (http://www.ausdwcon.org/).

(not known yet if PTerry will attend, though - it was rumoured that they need to have 300 people attending before he'll go)

(meanwhile, Continuum 3 (http://www.continuum.org.au/) will have Neil Gaiman as a guest, and it's in Melbourne too ... )

I knew about Continuum, though I did not realise it was in Melbourne.

Oh, and? They hold them in the states because other countries don't want us coming over. *nods solemnly*

I've got a bunch of Connie Willis books if you'd like to read them. I like :)

That'd be awesome! I'll have to look into her either way, then.

Pancakes with maple syrup (or Dutch stroop) and bacon rock. Haven't tried them with eggs though... *hungry*

We should. I'm a bit insanely busy, so arrangements would have to be made in advance so that I can guarantee that I'll be free.

Still too much of a higher brain function for me right now.

Stroop is basically Dutch maple syrup, and hence excellent on pancakes (which are about the only Dutch cuisine (which wasn't vegies which had the crap boiled out of it) that I ever found in my time there). Ok maybe that's a bit harsh. They do have yummy pea and ham and sausage soup. And apple pie. Hmmm. I think that's about it though...

Cool :) I'm pretty flat out till the end of my roster (2 or 3 weeks), and they're really slack about the new one, but i'll tell you as soon as I know when I'll be free :)
