I was having a mildly crap day today because it's Saturday, and Saturdays are never fun at my place. Steph gave me a call at about elevenish--
--and I was just gonna say on a sidenote that it's really nice to have a friend who calls me up semi-regularly to talk. I don't think I've ever had someone seek out my company like that before.
--and we talked about a whole lot of stuff. And about how guys never show their emotions much, and so it's really really easy to forget that they feel any sort of affection for you at all. Especially when they don't say the sweet things to your face, but rather to other friends. Which brought me to the conclusion that I want to spend some one-on-one time with both Tych and Liam (obviously not at the same time).

So, in special boldface in case they're skimming their friends list, Tych and Liam, I'd like for us to spend some one-on-one time [the two of you, individually spending time with me, in case that's not clear] vaguely soonish. Go for a walk in a park or something. Whatever. Preferably something that doesn't involve much money, or outside entertainment such as movies.

Segway! Bush in 30 Seconds. Highly amusing.

Listened to one of my parents' records today, while the rest of the house was out and I was cleaning the kitchen. Thanks to mother's apparent lack of sleep recently, I was in a shitty mood and really in the mood for guitars, and I found an album by Alice Cooper called Lace and Whiskey. Now, you'll have to excuse my total spasticity when it comes to music. Prior to driving a car, I never listened to the radio, and so I am generally woefully ignorant of music. All I knew of Alice Cooper was that he collaborated on Neil Gaiman on a comic called The Last Temptation which was awesome; thought I knew that a song "Them Bones", which I love, was by Alice Cooper, when it was in fact by Alice in Chains (Go ahead, point and laugh. I got one word right); and that he wore white-and-black makeup at some stage, like KISS, but with slightly more class.

The album started out promisingly enough, with a nice stong guitar, but moved very quickly into a frightening ballard region, sinking deeply into scary-country-and-western on side two, with one little sharp number reminding me of Neil Diamond. Not that that's a good thing. Also, Cooper appeared to be dressed as some sort of PI, and not white-and-black makeup-y at all. I'm not sure how I feel about the album overall, as it was not angsty-guitar-music enough for my mood at that moment. I may go back and re-listen when I've got over the disappointment.

I must say I really shouldn't be surprised. This is the record collection that contains such rock classics as Moog Plays the Beatles, ABBA and the Bee Gees. Father says that I'd probably like Uriah Heep, but I currently less than convinced.

Hallo. This is Michael. I would add you to my friends list, but I don't have one (on purpose: angst is contagious).

I read your boi, and I agree with you about the Arts thing: I used to work a high-paying job in a science/eng related field, and there is nothing to be elite about except endless drudgery against a cubicle wall.

I have a blog up at http://vurt.net/~mp

That's "bio", btw, not "boi" ;p

Ah. I was utterly perplexed about the "boi" thing.

Why don't you keep people you want to keep in contact with on your friends list, and then just not read the flist? That way you can find them on your userinfo, but you are angst-free. *nods*

Well, y'know, I would, but it's just so much easier to keep a small bookmarks list. People get offended when I stop reading them.

*nods* I have a stupidly large bookmarks list, I'm afraid, so that never occurred to me.
