There are times when I really hate my country. Or at least the fucks governing it. I'm going to move to Britain. At least the EU made them quit this sort of shit.

I was going to go to Q&As (Queer and Alternative) tonight with Mel and Jess O, but I suddenly realised that the Augie March/Wendy Rule gig is on this Sunday, and I'm too damn poor to go out to two things in one week. So I called Jess, and she said that she was skint too, and had been planning on showing up at Cam's work and begging money off him. She had no credit in her phone, so I was spokesperson to Mel, who said that tonight she'd arranged to have dinner with Toni, so she couldn't come anyway.

The committee have decided to reconvene at a later date.

Which reminds me. I should really get around to typing up last night's Visible Ink minutes. And starting my Editing take-home test. And writing my novel.

...

You know I'm just going to be doing the third item on that list and feeling guilty that I'm not doing the two previous points. Oh well.

Such bigotry is inexcusable. Like the world will come crashing down because two people who love each other can marry! A heterosexual can marry for money, can marry to beat immigration rules, can marry on a whim, can have an arranged marriage, a loveless marriage, an abusive marriage; any kind of marriage under the sun - yet it is a homosexual marriage that will break the ideal? Gah!

Thankfully, Britain's getting a civil partnership law - on it's own back, which surprised me. Normally we need rights legislation to be forced on us by Europe (gods bless the EU! A better thing never happened to us!)
