May. 19th, 2004 05:18 pmHeadspins. Whee!
The thing about the movie Troy is that it is so endlessly mockable. Ah, I love a good rant.
In other news, no one overseas can apparently tell an Australian accent from a bar of soap (apart from Fucktard, the Crocodile Hunter, whose accent is unbelievable); I have heard reviews that have placed Van Helsing's accent as Australian (I do not know what it is, but it is not purely Australian; take it from me, who am Australian, and who have heard the actor speaking with his true accent... um. The grammar of that sentence seems very wrong, but I am sick and cannot be fucked checking it out with my textbook), and also Eric Bana's in Troy.
It's funny really. Bars of soap do not speak. You'd think that would make them immediately identifiable as not being Australian accents.

Date: 2004-05-19 05:36 am (UTC)I'm usually really good with accents, really! Honest!
But Jackman's accent WAS all over the map in Van Helsing. In the Gatling gun scene in particular, the accent is so bizarre that its undefinable. Its vaguely Irish, vaguely American, vaguely Australian, but none of the above. It sure wasn't a pure American accent either though...
Anyway, feel better.
