China Mieville's a man?!?

Woah.

I slept for about 15 hours last night. It was wonderful. This was all because I (practically) got sent home early from Editing because I was sick. Of course, what do I do tonight? I stay out until after 11 and have to catch one of the last trains home. Of course. I'm so clever.

Because it's now technically Thursday, the new Wackiness is up! I'm so disproportionately excited.

Went out (as alluded to earlier) with Jess (friend from Prof Writing), Cam (ditto), Jess O (other Jess, the one I don't refer to constantly, who is in Novel and also does Vis Ink) and Cam's flatmate ("We are NOT sleeping together. No really." --Cam). Cam's flatmate, Anita, and I discovered a mutual love of Red vs Blue, and spent a short while quoting it at each other. I almost broke her with laughter. Go me! The others just looked on with bemusement.

We'd gone to see this collection of short snippets from plays, of which Cam's was one. The acting in most was awful, but some were ok. The final skit was fanfuckingtastic, and included a camp German in lederhosen who mispronounced some words in a way which reminded me of Prince Ludwig, a hunter in a pith helmet who was very Pythonesque, and two gay boys. It was hysterical. Later we went to Bunker, and Cam and Anita entertained us with amusing tales of Cam's sexual exploits.

So yeah. That was my day. How was yours?

*falls off chair laughing at Wackiness*
Dear Lords that's the funniest thing I've read for days.

YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!

I'm so pleased. ^___^

I so rarely get comments re: Wackiness, so it's hard to know when people read it...

*has been doodling comic style in her diary for a couple of days now*
and, OMG.
I need: photoshop, a digital camera (that doesn't suck), a webcam, the computer to not have anything on it except my own stuff, a scanner aaaaaaaaaaaand...I think I'll be happy technologically speaking.

Wah. It's so hard to want to save money instead of wanting to spend it!

i uploaded photos today. i feel shiny. and in lowercase too.

i forgot to get the joiny bit, that joins the photo taking bit to the computery bit, so i can't put up any new ones. (i borrowed a friends camera). and thus i am woe-filled.

15 hours. That rocks. I love a late sleeping day but I usually can't get past ten without the subconcious guilt pings waking me with internal bitching about deadlines or feeding the cats. BAH!

And pantsless Halo makes perfect sense to me! I don't know about playing pantsless in a room full of people but to each their own, right? heh

*grins* Well, I does these things when I'm sick. Or at least I try to. Especially when I've been sick for so long because I haven't been taking time off to recuperate.

*grins* Yeah. I've seen Liam in naught but boxers before, so pantsless Halo is practically modest.

That's a fair amount of sleep. I'm incredibly envious now.

Btw, concerning Wackiness, that Flintlock Hoodie... Is that an actual item one can get out there, or is it something from your creative side?

Yeah. Well, one does these things when one is sick.

It's something from my creative side, I'm afraid. Because I've always wanted a band, I've thought about names during idle moments, and I decided "Flintlock" was an awesome name for a band. Googled it a short while ago and found out that some shithouse C&W band from the states have already stolen the name. Bastards.

So the hoodie is a piece of merchandise that could have been. ;)

*nods* True.

Heh, ah well, sorry to hear that it's a C&W band. *potb*

China Mieville's also a terrifyingly good writer, but you probably already knew that...

And to judge by that picture of him... he must be like eight feet tall. The "about the author" pic that appears on his books seems a little misleading, now. In that picture he looks kinda on the small side, but serious-looking...

*nods* I've only heard his name in passing, I haven't actually read any of his stuff. I may have to try and find some, now. ;)

Oh, you must, you must. His stuff is ferociously good. He's got three novels out so far: King Rat (er, haven't read it), Perdido Street Station, and The Scar, which I just finished and, well, wow. He also did an entry for the Thackery T. Lambshead Pocket Guide to Eccentric and Discredited Diseases...

*nods* I'll look them up.

I've been looking for Thackeray's for ages. I have never yet seen it in a bookshop. Maybe when I get a job again I'll order it in...
