Ur is in Babylon
Mar. 9th, 2004 02:59 pmOkay, I'm a geek, but I think this is hilarious.
I so wanna learn Sumerian now. *joins Sumerian wotd*
I have also discovered that I kick arse at Comp Skills (because we're just doing Word. I mean, gosh, I've never used that program before (sarcasm). I remember when Word was still called "Write". I'm Old Skool). I finished all my work in the first half hour or so, and then proceeded to surf LJ. It's great. My teacher has an enormous obsession with tabs, though. I was always taught that tabs were what morons used if they'd grown up using typewriters. I didn't know how to do "tab leaders" as he calls them. (Do now.) I mean, honestly. Don't tab the beginning of every new line; use your little triangle thingies on your ruler to set a first line indent. Learn how to use columns. *rolls eyes* It's not like it's hard.
*whistles innocently* Man, I really need to learn how to alt-tab on these Macs, so I can switch programs and/or windows quickly when trying to hide my LJ activity from the teacher.

Well, it does in OS X anyway, maybe does in OS 9, but I don't have such a beast handy.
So, so handy a thing.
If you have OS X.3 (Panther), try pressing F9, F10 and F11, they're extra nifty.

Date: 2004-03-09 04:42 am (UTC)Go to the Apple Menu (top left one) and go to "About this Mac" or whatever and it'll say the OS version.
Apple-H may work either way though. Fingers crossed!

Not sure when Apple-H came in, but it seems like it's been there longer ;-)

how is it that the one day, the first day in fact, that I have a class about Sumeria is the same day I read this post?
Ah, I love coincidences. They make me question the futility of existance. Sometimes.

Date: 2004-03-12 01:11 pm (UTC)I'm guessing that's related to Sumer, somehow!
Ditto (un) pamplemousse.
