Nov. 15th, 2003 11:02 pmI have the headache from hell.
Today I helped with dress rehearsal for the ballet concert. Then I ran the concessions booth before the show, and during both intervals. I helped my sister with her ridiculously quick change (trying to get fishnets on quickly is not only Not Fun, but also impossible.), assisted in getting many very small children in and out of costumes. I minded one miserable girl who was too introverted to talk to me, and another one who decided to have hysterics because another girl had hit her. There was a long story there, and I don't know too much about it. Both of these children were about four years old. Later, the introverted miserable child released a torrent down the bottom of my shirt, all down my skirt, and across large amounts of floor. I had to borrow Lynette (teacher/principal of the school)'s clothing. To give you an idea, Lynette is built like this: | and I am built like this: o . Thank god for lycra and large t-shirts. I never want to see small children again.
On the good side, during the four hours I had between dress rehearsal and the concert, I dashed into the city and spent a good hour and a half or so with my friends for Nat's birthday. Enormous fun was had. I kicked arse at Elastics. We also taught it to Liam, Saxon, Cox and Tych, and they all had a go. Cox was the best of the boys, doing really well. Liam whinged because he screwed up and then tried to claim it was deliberate. He has a persecution complex, but we love him anyway. Liam, Sax and I did stupid dancing, and I demonstrated how little of the lyrics of Grease I actually know.
I got home at about 10.30. I didn't really have enough time to go in with them to see Pirates tonight, and frankly, I don't have the desire. Between the stress and the obnoxious heat, I have about a 4 Panadol headache. I'm going to bed. Catch up with friends list and comments and so forth tomorrow. Love you all.
