My mother just came in to kiss me on the forehead multiple times and to thank me for staying home, and to say that it was nice to have me around.

This is the most affectionate she's been, like, ever.

Y'know... I find it deliciously ironic that about an hour ago your post stated that you felt "unloved".
On the other hand, until we finally shipped her off to Malaysia, my mother did that to me every night. Could we possibly tie the apron strings any tighter? Methinks not.
