"Women in the Muggle world complain about homoerotica and male obsession in football," she commented. "They should really try living in a world where the sport of choice has four balls and the players are mounted on flying phallic symbols." - Underwater Light, by Maya.

Bastards! Some little two-bit mosquitoes have been biting me. It's not even summer yet and I hate it already.

Managed to not get my car today, by cleverly forgetting both the contract thingie and the cheque to pay for it. It was an effort of Einsteinian proportions, as I didn't realise until I'd caught a bus and two separate trains. Most irritating. Now I have to go through the whole rigmarole again tomorrow. I am so over this whole cripple business.

On the plus side, the phrase "King of Bastardshire" is the best thing I've heard all day, and I look forward to using it in conversation in future.

Also, I have to remember to phone Steph. Because she wasn't online tonight, and y'know. I miss her.

Edit: And now I have enormous red lumps on my feet. I HATE mosquitoes. I'm not normally in favour of genocide, but in this case I'm prepared to make an exception. Hate, hate, hate.

Wow. Another really cool icon. Why is it you have such cool icons? *jealous*

On another note, the mosquitoes are finally calming down up here in the Northern Hemisphere. I'm finally free! What you need to do is what my wife did. She no longer gets mosquito bites because they all swarm ME! Find someone they like better than you, and keep them in close proximity. They won't appreciate it, but you'll be bite free...

Because I'm cool like that, and make them in sets. *nods*

Unfortunately, I'm the one they like better than anyone. And I'm mildly allergic. I always swell up more than anyone else.

believe me, I know the feeling... A bite for me is about a week and a half of hell. *nods*

And yes, you are cool like that. :)

Some of 'em are worse than others, I'll admit.

Aw. Feel all special now. *grins, preens*

Mosquitoes eat me alive. I've taken to not going outside my house in the summer if at all possible. I think they see me and go, "Mmm, attack!" or something. And yes, my skin gets splotchy and burns like fire if I'm bitten by one. I feel your pain, darling. *huggles*

Yup. I spent a lazy afternoon sitting in a field with a boyfriend and came back with about seventeen assorted bites on my legs. One of them was about 2" by 1", and didn't go down for ages.

*pats*

Mosquitoes are evil. When I was in Malaysia... seven years ago... I got these huuuuge ones with a diameter of around 2 inches because, it appeared at the time, I was *very* allergic to them... however, when I went back last month 'twas fine...

The mozzies here are a different thing altogether... *grumbles at the bite she got last summer which still itches every now and then*

Bob gets mosquito bites. To the point where it literally seems as if they gravitate towards her and ignore everybody else. To counteract this, she's been taking a powdered form of Vitamin B with meals, which apparently helps reducing the frequency of mosquito bites, as well as the length of time which they linger.

Apart from that, I can lend you our electrified fly-swatter if you think that might help. Can just wave it around the air in random patterns and watch the little buggers fry.

I wouldn't fret too much. Don't worry about it. :)
