If I had known that sewing gloves was going to be so hard, I would have gone back to my old hobby of trying to pick up straight chicks. That was slightly less frustrating.

If this one works out, it'll all be worth it. The last one didn't work. I had to throw it out.

That sucks. *snuggs* What kind of gloves are you attempting?

Well, they're an old-fashioned style, but seeing the first round failed, I decided to try fingerless, as I assumed less work.

This was not correct, as the idea of "fingerless" gloves is a LIE.

Still, if this works, if they fit, I'll have very cool "fingerless" gloves.

*giggles* Poor Delirieuse... *obnoxiously curious* What kind of material are you using?

Well, considering these are technically a run-through, I'm using a patterned cotton.

Nifty. ^^ What kind of pattern? *remember the obnoxious bit?*

This one. And it's resolutely not working.

I'm handstitching it, using blanket stitch.

Or the third subsequent drafting of the pattern. *screams*

I'm giving up and going to bed for the night.

Well, giving up, at any rate.

Yes... silly virtual massages. Is a pity, as have learnt some very cool techniques.

However, we could always remedy that. The virtual thing, I mean. As in making it not virtual. :D

Date: 2003-09-17 07:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] semplice.livejournal.com
Yes. But if I then go "Dani said this" it becomes a quote. (Must.. not.. say savvy.. must... not.. quote.. PotC...)
So what I mean is, as always you come out with things that are amusing and incredibly quotable and also a bit sad, sometimes. *g*But think this even beats your vat of cool maturity.

Ah, I'm good at that. It's the delightful self-depricating humour. *grins*

What frustrates me is when people misuse "savvy" because of POTC. I mean, it means "understand", and that's it.

Yes. And I can say I have never had the urge in my life, before. But I have Johnny Depp's pirate voice running through my head, maybe that accounts for it.
People tend to do all sorts of things based on movies, though.Like.. um. Okay, erm there are examples somewhere. Will give you one once I get back from running around the house yelling "arrrrr"

I'd offer to set you up with someone... but you're on a different continent, and all my female friends are both straight and involved presently....

Don't. It's the humour I'm good at. :)

I'm told that self-deprecating humour is something uniquely Australian, in that it's one of the types of comedy that we employ most often. Buffy uses it sometimes, come to think of it... it's a very post-modern phenomenon, I suppose.

OK, sounds like a plan. *grins*

Be really, really similar to your male best friend, to the degree where you joke that you're twins.

Have male best friend break up with girlfriend, but leave her infatuated with him.

Fall for his ex-girlfriend.

Let the wackiness ensue.

I'll bet wackiness abounded!
I don't think I have any straight male friends *checks self* nope, not a one.

I just have a whole lot of gay-seeming straight male friends. :D

And a couple of gay male friends. But they're in the majority. Unfortunately, apart from one bi female friend, I seem to have solely straight female friends, dammit.

I have 1 close straight female friend (although she has bi tendencies) lots of fay male friends, and a number of lesbian friends. Most of whom are homebodies like myself, but then, we have careened into our late 30's now.
