Aug. 25th, 2003 11:10 pmIs it just me who enjoys slightly out-of-fashion words such as "presumptuous" (this one depends on context, of course), and "dross"? I less than three them.
I had planned on having a long and intellectually stimulating post written, but I'm buggered on legs, and my sister wanted to talk.
So. Tired. Don't think I've retained anything from my friends page tonight. This is a pity, as a couple of people have posted fic that I've wanted to read, but haven't been able to finish even the first paragraph.
I just misread something someone said as "I finally have a day alone with my hand." >_< I swear, the tireder I am (don't word-pick, I'm too tired to care), the more my brain becomes like a twelve-year-old boy. You should have seen me at coffee group. The cafe had written "Mars Bar Cake" as one word, like this: "Marsbarcake", and you can guess how I misread that. I'm not going to spell it out for you. Honestly.
Felt like crap most of today, particularly the latter. Wish I could have just stayed home and slept. Wish I could do that tomorrow. Ah well, we must shoulder our burdens best we can... at least until the weekend, when we plan on sleeping. All. Weekend. All sleeping, all the time.
I had planned on typing up a bit of Shadow Boys tonight, in thevein vain hope that I'd get some more written. Sigh. Perhaps Wednesday night. Maybe I'll even get a little done tomorrow, though that's highly unlikely. Maybe I could write some at work...?
Bought the first issue of 1602 today (the new Neil Gaiman comic). It rocks my socks. I like the story, the artwork... there's a couple of really quotable moments in there, too. Can't wait for the next one. I also bought issue 7 of Transmetropolitan. Tych informs me that there's only 8 books in the series, which makes me inestimably sad. I thought there was 10. Only one to go... It's like the end of an era. Or something.
Nat may be getting a dodgy version of Pirates from
icefalcon tomorrow. I'm so excited. I can hardly wait! Glee!
I found out what had been tapping on my window (and scaring the bejeezus out of me) - the shadecloth from outside my window, which had come loose from one of its moorings in the winds.
Eh. Tired. I only hope that this is vaguely sensical...and that I don't break off in the middle of a
