Aug. 11th, 2003 10:14 pmHad Manifest all weekend, which has completely burned me out (in conjunction with Sax's birthday party at ginger on Sunday night). Suffice to say I saw a lot of really good anime. My favourite was probably Wolf's Rain. Vampire Princess Miyu, previously merely "good" improved dramatically at the fourth episode. Which was of course the last screened at the festival. Now I must watch the rest..
Perhaps when I am less fucked over I shall find my listy thingie and note down all the anime I saw. There wasn't a single one I didn't like.
And the YAOI PANEL SUCKED. This coming from me. There were a whole lot of squealing Fangirls who were repetitive and annoying, and a gay guy in a pink shirt WHO WOULDN'T FUCKING SHUT UP. I also didn't learn anything much knew. I did know about the whole samurai-young boys thing... I read it in a book in the Rowden White a couple of years ago. Sigh.
I skinned a knuckle last week, and the skin underneath split today, leading to much pain, as it is on my right (dominant) hand. Owies. It is all swollen and red, and it keeps reopening the wound. I like the word "swollen". It feels swollen when I say it in my head, if that makes any sense at all. It also looks as if it has been spelt incorrectly.
GUIL: [...](rapidly.) Has it ever happened to you that all of a sudden and for no reason at all you haven't the faintest idea how to spell the word-- "wife"--or "house"--because when you write it down you just can't remember ever having seen those letters in that order before...? (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Tom Stoppard)
I like the words tranquil, swollen, quixotic, calm, and whore.

I have Little Birdy's Relapse stuck in my head. I am listening to it in an attempt to get it out again. Little Birdy's an Australian band from WA, and you can actually download Relapse for free from the Triple J website. There's a link on the front page.
*pokes computer* Why are you not loading any webpages? I want to find out about the Sleek Geek tour, damn you. *switches browsers* Yep, just as I thought. No shows in Victoria. WHY DO YOU MOCK ME THUS, GODS OF SCIENCE? In other news, my dad taught me about moments tonight. Moment = distance x force, and has to do with a force (in engineering, of course) that twists a structure. For eg, if you have a spanner on a particularly tough nut and you cannot use any more force, getting a longer spanner will help in getting the thing to move. This makes sense if you think about it logically.
I am in love with words. Some words just rock so hard, irrespective of their actual meanings. <3<3<3<3. This moment of literary and science geekery was brought to you by Nosleep.
Also!! Although I only got about a minute and a half of Buhfly on MSN, Zan has pencilled my Absinthe Fairy! I am full of joy!
Mmm, pocky.

I did that with my own name (Laura) yesterday. I was terribly ashamed of myself. I had to ask someone else how to spell it. Considering it's five letters long and there's only one alternate spelling, I looked like a complete idiot.
